Taylor a spokesman for the 4th Brigade Combat Team in Afghanistan says Durkin was among the soldiers Obama personally visited March 28 during the president’s visit to a hospital in Kabul. Fort Carson officials say Durkin joined the Army Feb. 16 2006. He was assigned to Fort Carson’s 1st Battalion 12th Infantry Regiment 4th Brigade Combat Team.
