Three veteran space shuttle astronauts were inducted into the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. George “Pinky” Nelson, William Shepherd and Jim Wetherbee, celebrated their induction on May 2, 2009.
