Bahrainis eye IAAF cross country prize: Bahrain’s team in Punta Umbria will be spearheaded by Bahrain’s double world champion Maryam Yusuf Jamal. Maryam is one of six from the national side who will be competing in the senior women’s event; the others are Kareema Jassim, Shama Mubarak, Tejitu Baba, Jameela Shami and Intissar Sami. Leading another six Bahraini men are Asian Games champions Hassan Mahboob, Tareq Mubarak and Shawqi Jamal. The others are Halim Jabri, Adam Younes and Dalhanne Nizar. Bahrain will also have one athlete, Ishaq Mubarak, competing in the junior men’s event.
