Sometimes I come across such unique antique pieces that the jewelry I make with them is almost impossible to part with...This necklace started with a sash buckle that seems to have one foot in the Art Nouveau period and the other foot in the Art Deco period. It is very geometric but as you begin to decipher the design you find the face of a knight with a cloak that could be wings: but also with the legs of a spider! Maybe the cloak/wings are part of the web...? How intriguing! Well every knight needs a damsel to save...This damsel is an Art Nouveau silver enamel brooch of a woman with butterfly wings. The tube pin back is intact and in working order. The silver brooch is hung beneath the sash buckle by chain. The knight/spider is 3" wide and 2.75" tall. The double link textured vintage silver colored chain is about 16"...So exactly what does this butterfly lady need to be saved from...not all knights are what they seem....
