Drink the juice and suck on the tips. ;) If you havnt found out already it's just scented oil that seeps up the sticks to scent the room lightly at all times.

Current fad that is raking in millions for something which doesn't work. Buy real incense made in India & burn 1 every day = soon your place will have a relaxing scent. Throw this out - do NOT re-gift it ! ;-)

I prefer the scented oils which you light using those tea lights and the glass bowls. To make those sticks work faster, use a blow dryer on the warm/hot setting.

and when the bottom halves are completely saturated and you feel the smell has faded, flipping the sticks brings the aroma back via the oil saturated ends in the air while the now bottom halves absorb oil until they no longer bring out the scent. it goes

The oil seeps up the sticks like water does, the oil should be something you'd want your place to smell like. They sell refills. Like others said, flip to get a faster result.
