Photo of the day: this mother of two discovered that she was HIV positive during her second pregnancy. She says when she first discovered her HIV status she was very upset, confused and scared and left the family and went to Nairobi. Her husband, Jumatano, also confused and upset, did a homebased care course, which teaches about how to both practically care for someone who HIV positive and also on how to council and provide emotional support. When he completed the course he went to find his wife in Nairobi and convinced her to return. She says after she came back she met other people involved in homebase care who provide advice and counciling and a support group with other HIV positive refugees meets once a month. Her second child has so far tested negative for the HIV virus. / UNHCR / A. Webster / December 2006 #Kenya / Kakuma #refugee camp #PreventionRevolution
