Reckless driving is suspected in an early morning single car crash in La Habra Heights, no injuries were reported. The crash occurred September 18 at approximately 12:50 AM at 1642 Fullerton Road near the suspected drug distribution center located adjacent to the Korean Church off of Harbor Blvd. An out of state (Pennsylvania) male indicated that he was headed north on Fullerton Road and lost control of his rented Nissan vehicle when he swerved to avoid hitting a dog. Witnesses stated they heard screeching tires and aggressive acceleration as the Pennsylvanian rounded the turn off of Harbor Blvd. onto Fullerton Road. Again more screeching tires preceded the crash through the church’s wrought iron fence with the vehicle coming to rest in the parking lot. No dog was located.

This section of Fullerton Road does not have speed limit or warning signs for northbound traffic. The area sees many traffic accidents mainly attributed to the city’s lack of proper signage warning of the dangerous S curve ahead.

No word if the driver was cited.
