nah, its an inlet for the rear diffuser... wiki "Venturi", as this is what the underside of the car is modelled from in principle and how a diffuser creates 'down-force'.

I can't figure out the purpose of this device. From this shot it looks like it is feeding a duct, but I can't see evidence of one in head on shots of the car. Otherwise it just looks like it would create drag where air scooped downward by the plough mee
